I've storyboarded on television series, feature films and commercials. The best a board artist can hope for is to work for an experienced and talented director who has a solid storyline in mind. I was lucky to have that in my association with Don Bluth among others. Here are a few examples. Top row is an example from the Fox feature, Anastasia, flanked by two pieces from Disney's Junglebook2 showing the B & W concept left into the full color sketch right.
Following Anastasia, I was hired by Fox again to do the original concepts on Ice Age. Some pieces I did used 3D models I had designed and built at home on my computer combining character and environment as complete CG elements. Fox was so intrigued with the idea they contacted Blue Sky in New York to do the final production. The small color script was for a Miramax film I did in a German expressionist style. Jungle Book was traditional. Bottom row is opening of Anastasia for Fox and lower right is a page from The Chipmunk Adventure feature I did for the Bagdasarians.
I did these all these pieces from rough concept drawings through to clean up and color where shown and have included them here to hopefully show diversity in style and technique which I've to vary for each project as needed or requested by director.
